Minimum 3 years with Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) Practical knowledge in Networking, Storage infrastructure Practical knowledge of data backup solutions Software implementation and configuration task capability under supervision; perform/build domain constructs for client backups Plan and/or Perform firmware and microcode updates as requested Develop and maintain documentation associated with assigned roles and responsibilities Initiate and monitor data backup operations and engage with issue problem determination activities Perform software upgrades as required to maintain and enable vendor support Deploy strategies for maintaining and enhancing backup infrastructures and backup operations Analytic skills to process system generated data and transform information that can be used to manage backup solutions |
| Job Description: |
Monitoring TSM and other Network Backup systems focusing on tape related processes. Maintain scratch pools, trouble-shoot tape issues, ensure successful vault rotation of tapes. Processing media by filing media in/out of libraries to/from shelves and racks. This may apply to both onsite shelving of media or preparing media for offsite transport. Work with vendors when necessary to resolve hardware issues within media libraries. Working within OPAS in compliance with Incident, Change, and Request management. Answering incoming client phone calls and contact clients via telephone. Working directly with the Data Backup team to further learn/extend data backup knowledge and responsibilities. |
